What are fibers and how do we use them at Quiet Valley? Participants will gain a broad understanding of the types and sources of different fibers, examine their origins, and observe their differences. Then, we will discuss the pros and cons of the types of fibers used by a 19th-century farm family. Activities in this lesson will include examining clothing and clothing labels and observing how different types of fabric burn.
