SUMMARY:Spooky Days on the Farm
DESCRIPTION:Activities turn towards the things that go bump in the night around Halloween! \nOn Friday and Saturday nights put your detective skills to the test by helping solve a murder mystery! A guide will take you around the farm as you meet the suspects\, gather clues\, and more! This program takes approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours and tours are continuous. The last tour begins at 8:30 pm from the log cabin gift shop. Get into the haunted Halloween spirit with something more unique than just another haunted house. \nThis program is designed by a forensic specialist and includes discussions and depictions of death and murder. The farm is extremely dark at night and we encourage visitors to bring flashlights. Actors are not permitted to touch visitors. Not suitable for audiences under age 7. \n\nDate: Friday Oct 23rd / Saturday Oct 24th\nTime: Friday- 6pm to 8:30pm\, Saturday- 5pm-8:3opm\nAdmission: $18 Adults\, $10 Ages 3-12\n\nTickets will go on sale on September 1st.

Quiet Valley Members\, check your email for a 15% off discount code. \n \n  \nThis year\, we will be offering the following full-day workshop choices: \nFull Day Workshop 1: Christmas “Penny” Tree \nWomen of the 1800’s created “penny rugs” from scrap wool to decorate their homes and tables. Create your own 8 x 10 wall hanging/trivet/pillow with felted wool pennies. Participants will learn how to blanket stitch the colorful pennies. Many colors to choose as you design and create your own tree.\nCost: $45\nInstructors: Sue Oiler and Ceal Yost \nFull Day Workshop 2: Baking Apple Dumplings and English Muffin Bread \nGrammy Henning’s Apple Dumplings-  Learn how to make a traditional PA Dutch Fall dessert.   Flaky biscuit dough wrapped around apples and drenched in a sweet cinnamon syrup.\nEnglish Muffin Bread- This is an easy to make no knead yeast bread that is a crowd pleaser!  Sliced\, toasted\, and buttered!! Yum.\nCost: $60\nInstructor: Maryellen Mross and Deb Seip \nThe following workshops are half-day which are paired to create a full day of workshops.  \nMorning: Winter Painted Wine Bottle Light \nParticipants will learn to paint a wine bottle step-by-step of this winter bird house scene complete with battery operated fairy lights inside to illuminate.\nInstructor: Meg Weinhofer \nMorning: Pressed Flower Coasters: \nCreate eight beautiful coasters using epoxy resin and pressed flowers. These coasters are fun to make and each one is unique! Workshop includes all materials\, and participants will keep the reusable coaster molds to ensure proper curing time for your creations and for coaster making on your own!\nInstructor: Ellen Oiler \nAfternoon: Wool “Evergreen” Decoration \nParticipants will make felted wool “evergreen” decorations. There will be time to complete multiple of various sizes and colors. Completed in holiday charm with bells and ribbon!\nInstructor: Ceal Yost \nAfternoon: Dried Flower Wall Art \nUnleash your creativity while bringing a touch of nature inside. In this workshop\, participants will use a wooden frame\, wire and dried flowers to create a one-of-a-kind piece of wall art. All materials included.
