Wildlife Interpretative Walks

The Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center in cooperation with Quiet Valley Historical Farm is offering the public a chance to explore the farm and discuss the wildlife and forests found on the property with a professional Environmental Educator as your guide. Pre-registration is suggested. Call 570-629-3061 to pre-register. On the day of the walks, participants will also receive a reduced entrance fee to tour the farm in addition.

Beth IMG_3747“Signs of Spring on the Farm” – April 2 – Saturday – Join Kettle Creek
Environmental Education Center staff who will be offering a walk at the
farm from 2 – 4p.m. celebrating spring and the early signs of spring in
nature. We will explore several areas of the farm and look for early
spring flowers, wildlife happenings and more. This 2 hour outdoor program
will be fun for the entire family. Please dress to walk outside.
The walk will begin in front of the Gift Shop. Cost : $6/non-members,
$4/EE Center or Quiet Valley members, children under 12 free.

bird“Breeding Birds at the Farm” – June 16 – Thursday – Join Kettle Creek Environmental
Education Center staff from 7 – 9a.m. in search of the numerous
birds who nest at Quiet Valley. The varied habitat provides ideal nesting
areas for a number of beautiful songbirds. Please dress to walk outside and bring binoculars. The walk will begin in front of the Gift Shop. Cost : $6/
non-members, $4/EE Center or Quiet Valley members, children under 12
free.

has arrived doesn’t mean all the flowers are finished blooming. Join
Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center staff as we highlight
the many interesting plant species that are found in the summer
forests at Quiet Valley. Please dress to be outside . The walk will
begin in front of the Gift Shop. Cost : $6/non-members, $4/EE Center

apple tree“Tree ID. At the Farm” – November 6 – Sunday – November brings
colder temperatures and the trees have lost their leaves. Join Kettle
Creek Environmental Education Center staff on a 2 hour outdoor hike
learning how to ID the trees on the farm and also a little about their
natural history. This 2 hour outdoor program will be fun for the entire
family. Please dress to walk outside. The walk will begin in front
of the Gift Shop. Cost : $6/non-members, $4/EE Center or Quiet Valley
members, children under 12 free.
