NATURE EXPLORERS – To register on-line click here or call the farm office at 570-992-6161.
Come and learn what kids did on the farm in the 1800’s. There were chores to do, animals to feed and take care of, garden vegetables to grow and eat, and when the chores were all done – there was the whole farm to explore! We’ll learn about the creatures that live in our pond, our woods and on the farm itself. There will also be games, songs, stories, hay jumps and more!

Come and learn what the older kids did on the farm in the 1800’s. Sure, there were chores to do, animals to take care of and garden vegetables to grow and eat, but, as the saying goes: “All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy”. With the whole farm and surrounding area to explore, you never know what there is to do next! You can be sure that there will be games, songs, stories, hay jumps, hiking, wagon rides and traditional hand cranked ice cream on Friday!
Dates: July 11 – 15, 2016
Time: 9:30 – 2:30, Monday through Friday
Ages: Children must have completed third, fourth or fifth grade
Cost: $110.00 (or $100.00 for members)
Deadline (with payment): July 5, 2016

QUIET VALLEY EXPLORERS – To register on-line click here or call the farm office at 570-992-6161.
Deb DiPasquale will be holding the Quiet Valley Explorers program again. The group meets one day a week on Thursdays for six weeks. This program focuses on three things;
1) to have fun as we explore the skills that a future tour guide might need to know,
2) to have fun as we explore traditional crafts and arts and
3) to have fun as we explore the outdoors and the Quiet Valley farm.
It’s easy to see “to have fun” while “we explore” is the whole point of our group! Many of the basics of life on a 19th century farm will be covered. Hearth Cooking, Animal Husbandry, Folk Art, Heritage Crafts and Trade Skills will be areas we explore. Games, hikes and an end of summer ice cream party round out the QV Explorer experience. More details to come.
I hope you join me for some summer fun at Quiet Valley this year!
